Croatian-Swedish bilateral relations
The Kingdom of Sweden officially recognised the Republic of Croatia on 16 January 1992. The diplomatic relations between two countries were established on 29 January 1992.
The bilateral relations between Croatia and Sweden are very good, friendly and intensified in all areas. Sweden firmly supports Croatia's EU membership and acknowledges the necessary reforms Croatia has successfully undertaken in the context of EU accession.
High level of bilateral relations is confirmed by an intensified exchange of visits on the highest state level; Sweden's support to Croatia's accession talks with the EU during the Swedish EU Presidency in the second half of 2009; as well as the joint Croatian-Swedish organisation of the Croatia summit in July 2009.
