EU Flag raised at the Embassy
In a ceremony held on July 1, 2013, Ambassador Joško Paro raised the flag of the European Union at the Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C., following Republic of Croatia's accession to the EU. We were joined on this occasion by representatives of the U.S Department of State, EU Delegation in the U.S., members of diplomatic community and Croatian diaspora in the U.S. A letter of congratulations from DC’s Mayor Vincent Gray was read and European anthem “Ode to Joy” was performed by a Croatian-American tamburitzans band.
