A British Library Symposium
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia and the Slavic Department of the Britsh Library organised a symposium “The Renaissance of Marko Marulic (Split, 1450-1524)” held at the British Library on Monday, 11th May 2009.
It was the first symposium in Great Britain at which the British and the Croatian experts presented “the father of the Croatian literature” as well as the links between Britain and Marulic's work. The symposium offered an opportunity to see rare copies of Marulic's books from the collection held by the British Library. British and Croatian specialists and bibliographers gathered at the symposium offered new perspectives on Marulic's life, time and his works.
