The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in London and the Croatian Tourist Office in London have jointly organised a presentation of the city of Split: „Split Ancient and Modern: A Captivating City“, held at the Embassy on Thursday, 16th April 2009. The presentation was attended by representatives of British travel agencies and travel journalists (The Times, History Today, Conde Nast Traveller, BBC).

The Croatian Ambassador Dr Ivica Tomic warmly welcomed around 130 guests - archaeologists, conservation and restoration experts as well as curators from several British museums. The copies of the graphics of the Diocletian's Palace by the Scottish architect Robert Adam from the 18th century were exhibited for this occasion. Also exhibited was a marble sculpture of Socrates which according to records originates from the Diocletian's Palace.
The presentation focused on Split as a tourist destination with rich cultural heritage as well as on the recent archaeological excavations in the Diocletian's Palace.
