Croatian Film in Edinburgh

Croatian film in Edinburgh Filmhouse in Edinburgh was a host of a short season of classic and contemporary films and short from the Croatian film industry from 28th until 30th March 2008. The programme consisted of three feature films: Armin, A Wonderful Night in Split (Ta divna splitska noc), The Border Post (Karaula) and a selection of shorts entitled Light drawings: The Zagreb School of Animation.

Croatian film in Edinburgh Filmhouse in Edinburgh was a host of a short season of classic and contemporary films and short from the Croatian film industry from 28th until 30th March 2008. The programme consisted of three feature films: Armin, A Wonderful Night in Split (Ta divna splitska noc), The Border Post (Karaula) and a selection of shorts entitled Light drawings: The Zagreb School of Animation. Many of the films have already been awarded prizes and recognition at major film festivals throughout the world tackling issues and reflecting cultural changes that have taken place in Croatia over the last decade. The opening of the festival was attended by the representatives of the film institutions in Edinburgh and Glasgow, the British Council, the Scottish-Croatian Society and the diplomatic corps in Edinburgh. The Croatian Ambassador in the United Kingdom Joško Paro opened the festival with a short speech while James McKenzie, Director of Filmhouse spoke about the future cooperation with the Croatian film industry.
