Croatia Through History
24th April 2008
Publisher Saqui and the Croatian Embassy in London jointly organised the launch of Branka Magaš's book Croatia Through History - The making of the European State. It is an extensive book on 700 pages with comprehensive bibliography. It offers to the public an opportunity to read for the first time a complex history of Croatia from the Middle Ages until the present day written in English. Speaking at the book launch Mrs Magaš said that in her book she wrote about the continuity, complexity and contradictions of the Croatian history and concluded that, in her opinion, one of the greatest achievements of Croatia is its national unity which also allows for the development of regional and cultural diversity.
Branka Magaš was born in Split and completed her education in London. She has been living in London for many years. She specialises in the contemporary history.
