In the packed theater of Kensington Library in London, yesterday evening, a play „Carlotta Grisi – From Vizinada To Eternity“ by Croatian artist Ronald Braus was performed. It is a true story about the life of the ballerina Grisi, who was born in the small Istrian town of Vizinada (Croatia) in 1819 and became a world-famous prima ballerina of her time.

Carlotta Grisi was the muse of the French writer Theophile Gautier, and developed her talent under the mentorship of the choreographer and dancer Jules Perrot. It was these two men, together with the composer Adolphe Adam, who, inspired by Carlotta Grisi's almost divine dancing, created Giselle. Giselle has remained, to this day, one of the most performed ballets of Romanticism.

"Carlotta Grisi - From Vizinada To Eternity" is a dramatic performance with music and dance sections. The play director is the ballerina and choreographer Ljiljana Gvozdenović, the text is written by the actress Annamaria Serda, who plays the main character Carlotta, and the opera singer, actor and director of the "Rovinj, Art&more" festival Ronald Braus plays her partner - the famous choreographer and dancer Jules Perrot. Vedran Janjanin accompanied them on the piano. The music was composed by composer and conductor Darijan Ivezić.

In addition to the British spectators, the performance was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Igor Pokaz with his colleagues, the director of the HTZ office in London Darija Reić, the president of the British Croatian Chamber of Commerce Damir Cimer and numerous members of the British-Croatian Society.
