Croats at the Court of the Raven King
Marcus Tanner, journalist and writer, gave a talk “Croats at the Court of the Raven King” at the Croatian Embassy in London on 18th March 2009. Marcus Tanner was a permanent correspondent, a war reporter and an assistant foreign editor of the British daily newspaper The Independent. He is the author of several books, among them “Croatia, a Nation Forged in War” He also collaborated with Marica Meštrovic on her book “Ivan Meštrovic: The Making of a Master”.

Photo ExhibitionPhoto exhibition „Modest Beauty“ by Robert Krivec
A private view of the photo exhibition „Modest Beauty“ by Robert Krivec was held at the Croatian Embassy in London on 14th January 2009. “Modest Beauty” is Krivec's first solo exhibition. He was born in Croatia but has been living and working in London since 2007. He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb in 2004 and has since taken part in numerous projects in Croatia and the United Kingdom as a cinematographer and photographer. The exhibition remains open until 28th February 2009.

First international symposium in Great Britain on Marko De Dominis, Croatian scientist and theologian, Bishop of Senj, Archbishop of Split, Dean of Windsor and Master of Savoy, was held at the British Library in London on 6th May 2008.
The symposium entitled “Marco Antonio De Dominis (Rab 1560 – Rome 1624) – Catholic, Anglican and Ecumenist: A Celebration” brought together historians and academics from Croatia and Great Britain. It was organised by the Croatian Embassy in London and the Department for the International Cultural Co-operation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, in co-operation with the British Library.

The Chief Conservator at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb Mr Miljenko Domijan held an interesting lecture about the island of Rab at the Croatian Embassy in London on 21st February 2008.
