At the invitation by Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Finland Damir Kušen, a delegation from the Ruder Boškovic Institute, headed by Director Danica Ramljak, paid a several-day working visit to Finland. The delegation plans to meet with top people from the Finnish institutions financing and coordinating research and scientific projects on high technology, with the aim of setting up long-term cooperation in science, innovation and technology, especially nanotechnology. The visit program also included participating in the leading international conference on nanoscience and nanotechnology Nanoscience Days 2009, held in Jyaskyla and gathering more than 300 scientists from 30 odd countries around the globe. With the intention of enhancing the cooperation and exchanging experiences, Director Ramljak is also to meet with representatives of Finland’s leading companies and research institutes that employ innovations from the field of nanotechnology. Also scheduled are meetings with Finnish officials, scientists and businessmen in regard to Finland’s science and technology investment strategy. For years, Finland has been investing 3.7% GDP in research and development, placing it among the world’s leading countries in that regard. Mario Dragun Spokesman
