Within the framework of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the Helsinki Art School, a Finnish-Croatian exhibition of children’s art, “Nature and People – Nature of People”, was inaugurated in Helsinki on Friday, 17 April 2009.
Together with Slovakia and as a partner country, Croatia was given an opportunity to participate in the exhibition through a selection of works by children from Croatian elementary schools, carried out in consultation with the experts at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport.
The joint exhibition was realized through cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Helsinki and the Helsinki Art School. Finnish President Tarja Halonen inaugurated the exhibition and expressed her gratitude to Ambassadors of Croatia and Slovakia for the support they provided in the realization of the exhibition.
Ambassador Dr. Damir Kušen expressed his gratitude to President Halonen for her leadership in the promotion of systematic improvement of the quality of education in the world and strengthening of creativity and the culture of innovativeness. Ambassador Kušen also expressed his satisfaction with the increasing cooperation between Croatia and Finland in this field as well. The exhibition was inaugurated at the Kaapelitehdas Gallery in Helsinki, and will remain open until 28 April.
