Minister Jandrokovic opened the Croatian-Finnish Business Forum

Minister Jandrokovic opened the Croatian-Finnish Business Forum Croatian-Finnish Business Forum was organized by the WTC Helsinki, Croatian Chamber of Commerce, MInistry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Croatian Embassy in Helsinki, at the premises of the European Commission on 5 October 2010. Minister Jandrokovic in his opening speech presented Croatia as the atractive country for foreign investments and called the Finnish businessmen to strengthen thier cooperation with the Croatian partners.

Minister Jandrokovic opened the Croatian-Finnish Business Forum Croatian-Finnish Business Forum was organized by the WTC Helsinki, Croatian Chamber of Commerce, MInistry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Croatian Embassy in Helsinki, at the premises of the European Commission on 5 October 2010. Minister Jandrokovic in his opening speech presented Croatia as the atractive country for foreign investments and called the Finnish businessmen to strengthen thier cooperation with the Croatian partners. Minister pointed out the importance of tourism as one of the most prosperous economic branches in Croatia, based on the natural beauty, biodiversity and reach cultural heritage. He presented a new investment plan prepared by the Croatian Government with emphasisise on tourim, energy sector, tranport, water management and SME-s. He also welcomed any future Finnish interest in the green field investements in Croatia. Minister Jandrokovic said that Croatia has completely adjusted its legal system with the EU legislation. He mentioned that Croatia has a well educated and skillful labour. In particular, he argued the attractiveness of a geopolitical position of Croatia as a bridge between Western Europe and South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Croatia has very developed transport network with excellent highways, international airports and harbours, what additionally increases its potential for foreign investments. He also welcomed stronger cooperation in the field of science, reseach and high technology. On behalf of the Finnish Government the opening speech was given by Mr Pertti Torstila, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also welcomed strengthening of the economic and trade relations between Finland and Croatia. He pointed out the great progress that Croatia has made in recent years. Representative of the European Commission in Finland Mr Eikka Kosonen welcomed the audience as a host and mentioned that Croatia is close to finalise its EU membership negotiations. THe WTC Helsinki was presented by Mrs. Sirpa Rissa Antillainen, Executive Director. Croatian companies presented at the business Forum were: Alveus, Brodosplit-Brodogradilište, Drvoproizvod, ?uro ?akovic montaža, Felis produkti, Institu Ruder Boškovic, Radež, Vulkan Nova, Viševica komp, Studio 6 Dof, and Zagreb Airport.
