At the invitation of the Mayor of Inari Reijo Timperia, Ambassador Dr. Damir Kušen visited the northernmost regions of Finland, region of Lapland in late May. He has been introduced with experience of using important EU cohesion and structural funds for encouraging local development.

At the invitation of the Mayor of Inari Reijo Timperia, Ambassador Dr. Damir Kušen visited the northernmost regions of Finland, region of Lapland in late May. He has been introduced with experience of using important EU cohesion and structural funds for encouraging local development.
Dr. Kušen also visited the Museum Center of Lappish and Sami culture SIIDA in Inari, and had a working dinner with President of the Sami Parliament Klemetti Näkkäläjärvi. He also met and talked with representatives of local political, cultural and business circles. Ambassador Kušen also participated in the celebration of European Day of Parks and presented the natural beauty and biodiversity of Croatia.
In the city of Utsjoki he was received by Mayor Viljo Pesonen, and visited the northernmost place in the EU – Nuorgam – and Research Centre for Fisheries Economics and Teno, as well as the scientific research station for climate change monitoring in Kevo.
