Presentation of Galway as the European Capital of Culture

A new presentation of Galway as the European Capital of Culture was held on the 15th of November 2018 in Galway, in order to restore the confidence in the whole project. A new visual identity and a new, more colourful logo inspired by the scenery was presented on this occasion under the title Galway 2020. Sean Kyne, minister for Irish speaking areas, Donal Lyons, deputy mayor of Galway, all the team of the project lead by the new president of the organisational committee Patricia Philbin were all present at the event. The new president also presented the refreshed programme which was described as creative, fun, open, daring and lively with a confidential, energetic, friendly and inspirational ring to it. Amassador Ivan Mašina was there as the representative of the Croatian Embassy and used the occasion to stress once again that the relations between Rijeka and Galway are very good and their cooperation excellent. He also said that the Embassy is there to support the further improvement of the cultural cooperation on state level.
