The Minister of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, Željko Jovanovic, PhD came for a working visit to Ireland on October 15th 2012
The purpose of the visit was the signing of the Agreement between the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and Trinity College Dublin, on establishing a post of lector in Croatian language and literature. During the visit Minister Željko Jovanovic, PhD met with the Minister of Education and Skills of Ireland, Ruairi Quinn, T.D.

The purpose of the visit was the signing of the Agreement between the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and Trinity College Dublin, on establishing a post of lector in Croatian language and literature. During the visit Minister Željko Jovanovic, PhD met with the Minister of Education and Skills of Ireland, Ruairi Quinn, T.D.
During the signing of the Agreement, Minister Željko Jovanovic, PhD thanked the Trinity College Dublin Provost, Dr. Patrick Prendergast for enabling the establishment of the Croatian language and literature lectureship at Trinity College Dublin, the oldest and the most prestigious Irish university, which is on the list of top 100 universities worldwide.
Emphasising that this achievement represented an extraordinary contribution towards the affirmation of the Croatian language and culture not only at the European, but also at the world level, Minister Željko Jovanovic, PhD expressed a wish in the longevity of this, as well as potentially new common initiatives of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and Trinity College Dublin.
