The International Charity Bazaar Dublin has been organised annually since 2006 and its proceeds are donated to charities and or non-governmental organisations resident in Ireland, primarily those which support education, women's and children's health, as well as those which assist in cases of natural disasters.
In addition to diplomatic missions resident in Ireland, numerous Irish volunteers participate in the organisation and the presentation of the ICBD and contribute to the variety of the Charity Bazaar with their labour, shows and presentations.
This year, the participating diplomatic missions obtained proceeds by selling traditional food, beverages, artwork, jewellery and souvenirs representative of the culture and the way of life of their respective countries.
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin sold chocolates and bonbons of the renowned Croatian company KRAš as well as sugar-coated almonds, lemon and orange peels, donated by the Croatian company Stella Croatica on its stand. It also offered one raffle prize, obtained thanks to the assistance provided by the Croatian Tourist Board in London and the company Hotels Maestral from Dubrovnik: a three day stay for two persons at hotels Vis, Splendid, or Komodor in Dubrovnik.
Numerous visitors expressed interest in Croatia as a tourist destination and were provided with information and various Croatian Tourist Board brochures by the Croatian Embassy staff. In addition to participating in the 7th International Charity Bazaar Dublin, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin participated, amongst other diplomatic missions resident in Ireland, in the making of a collection of recipes, comprising, inter alia, recipes of renowned Croatian dishes, titled The International Charity Bazaar Cookbook, which was also sold at the Bazaar and which, of all the goods sold, deservedly arose the highest interest and demand.
