A Holiday Property Investment Seminar was organised today by the Irish-Croatian Business Association (ICBA) in co-operation with the Croatian Embassy in Dublin. The seminar was attended by 70 participants, mainly from the property sector.

Mr James Nugent, Chairman of the ICBA, congratulated Croatia and in particular Ambassador Dr Prelog on the candidacy status for full EU membership Croatia was granted on 18 June. He welcomed the recent developments of Irish-Croatian relations, in the fields of trade, culture and in political bilateral relations. Ambassador Dr Nenad Prelog welcomed the number of participants at the seminar, which additionally shows the Irish interest in investment and property acquisition in Croatia.
Mr Marijan Kostrencic, director of one of Croatia´s oldest consultancy companies Intel introduced the specific possibilities of investment in Croatia, which include its uniqueness of geographical position, nature, accessibility and mentality and at the same time the political and economical support for investment.
Mr Paul Suchar of KPMG Croatia spoke about specific legal, tax and financial aspects of property investment in Croatia. This topic was of great interest for the audience, as it involves some complexity due to lack of property companies in Ireland acquainted with the Croatian legal and tax system.
Irish experiences were the topic of the presentation by Mr and Mrs Hayes of Aquarius Properties based in Dublin, who offer various Mediterranean locations to their customers, and deem Croatia as one with the highest potential.
