European Film Festival

The Croatian film “Armin” by director Ognjen Svilicic will be shown on Sunday, 25 July 2010 at 7 pm (with English subtitles, at the Cinemobile, Royal Marine Hotel Garden in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin) as part of the European Film Festival “Journeys through Europe and Beyond” at the Festival of World Cultures 2010 in Dun Laoghaire.

The Croatian film “Armin” by director Ognjen Svilicic will be shown on Sunday, 25 July 2010 at 7 pm (with English subtitles, at the Cinemobile, Royal Marine Hotel Garden in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin) as part of the European Film Festival “Journeys through Europe and Beyond” at the Festival of World Cultures 2010 in Dun Laoghaire. The film follows a very important journey for Ibro and his only son Armin. Coming from a small town in Bosnia, the father takes his son to a film audition in Zagreb. Ibro wants to offer him a chance to fulfill his dream. The journey to Zagreb becomes a special personal journey for father and son. “Armin” won various film awards, including an Award at the Karlovy Vary Festival in 2007, the International Film Critics Award (FIPRESCI) for best foreign language film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2008. The European Film Festival is presented by the European Union Representation Office in Ireland and the screening of “Armin” is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland (in co-operation with Croatian Audivisual Centre and Maxima Film).
