Elections for representatives of the Republic of Croatia in the European Parliament

On March 15, 2024, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, issued a Decision on calling for Elections for members of the European Parliament from the Republic of Croatia. The decision entered into force on April 9, 2024, and was published in the Official Gazette no. 32/24. Elections at polling stations in the Republic of Croatia and at the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Croatia abroad will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Elections for members of the European Parliament from the Republic of Croatia will be held at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland (Adelaide Chambers, Peter Street, Dublin 8), on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Voters who wish to exercise their right to vote abroad should register (voters who do not reside in the Republic of Croatia should request active registration, and voters residing in the Republic of Croatia may request prior registration, i.e. obtain a certificate for voting outside their place of residence) no later than Wednesday, 29 May 2024 until 24:00 Croatian time (that is, 23:00 Irish time), according to the instructions available on the website of the Ministry of Justice and Administration https://mpu.gov.hr/vijesti/objava-biracima-za-izbore-za-clanove-u-europski-parlament-iz-republike-hrvatske-27974/27974

Voters who wish to exercise their right to vote at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin submit a request for active/preliminary registration through the e-Citizens system or by e-mail (croemb.dublin@mvep.hr or crocons.dublin@mvep.hr ), whereby it is necessary to send a completed and signed form depending on the type of registration.

We especially note that Croatian citizens who have been issued an identity card with a residence address abroad do not need to register if they are going to vote in the Embassy/Consular Office according to the address on the identity card on the day of the election. If they will not be in the territory of the competent Embassy/Consular Office, and they want to vote, they should register for the Embassy/Consular Office in whose territory they will be on the day of the Election.

There is a possibility for every voter to search the vote register (via OIB or MBG) on the website of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration https://biraci.gov.hr/RegistarBiraca/
