Commemoration for the Great Famine

On Sunday, 13th May 2012, the National Commemoration for the Great Famine of the mid-19th century victims was held in Drogheda, County Louth. In addition to the representatives of the Irish Government and the Oireachtas, the Commemoration ceremony, during which the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, held a speech, was attended by the representatives of the political leadership of Northern Ireland, local community representatives, as well as Ambassadors and representatives of more than thirty countries accredited to Ireland. On behalf of the Republic of Croatia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Ireland, mr.sc. Jasna Ognjanovac placed a wreath on the place marking this tragic event.
