On Monday, 24 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman, received the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, as part of her first official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

During the meeting, the two interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and their mutual readiness to deepen them, with particular emphasis on various forms of economic cooperation and on Albania’s accession negotiations.

On this occasion, Grlić Radman congratulated Spiropali on the opening of all negotiating clusters. He also underlined that Croatia will continue, as before, to support Albania on its path toward full EU membership by sharing the knowledge and experience gained during its own accession process.

The ministers agreed that bilateral economic relations are good and stable, while noting the significant potential for further growth, particularly in trade and investment. Additional opportunities for enhanced cooperation were also identified in the defence industry, energy, and in the development of transport connectivity and infrastructure.

Both sides concluded that the continuation of the EU’s enlargement policy toward the countries of Southeast Europe is essential for the stability and security not only of the region, but of the entire European continent.
