State Secretary Matušić holds political consultations with Georgia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Zurabashvili
During the meeting, a wide range of bilateral issues was reviewed, and both sides expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, with a focus on sectoral collaboration in the areas of trade, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and energy. The discussion also covered aspects of Georgia’s relations with the European Union. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuous and constructive exchange of views contributing to a better understanding of Georgia’s European path. The Croatian side underlined its consistent support for Georgia’s European aspirations and expressed its readiness to continue providing assistance to Georgia’s reform process, including by sharing its own experiences from the accession process.
The talks also addressed global issues, including Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the situation in Southeast Europe, the Black Sea region, and the Middle East. The interlocutors likewise exchanged views on the importance of regional and security cooperation, with particular attention to the area of connectivity.
