Family members of EU/EEA citizens

Family members of citizens of the European Union or European Economic Area Member States, who are nationals of third countries, are entitled to free movement in accordance with Directive 2004/38/EC of 29 April 2004,

A family member of EU/EEA citizen can travel to Croatia without a visa if

  • he/she has a valid passport and a valid identification card called "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen", and
  • he/she travels with or joins the family member who is a citizen of the Union or EEA Member State.

If you are a family member of EU/EEA citizens, and need to apply for visa, a priority appointment for submission of application directly to the Embassy will be given. The visa application is processed in an accelerated procedure, without charging visa fees, with minimum documentation, i.e. you need to submit a filled out and signed visa application form, a valid passport, a photograph, and a proof of family relationship with EU/EEA citizen.
