South Africa removes visa requirements for Croatian citizens

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is pleased to announce the decision of the Republic of South Africa to exempt Croatian citizens from the requirement of obtaining visas for stays of up to 90 days.

This achievement is the result of strengthened cooperation and communication with the South African side, led by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman, as well as the efforts undertaken at all levels within the Ministry, including the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria.

Relations received additional impetus through the visit of the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Alvin Botes, to Zagreb in December 2024, during which political consultations were held. More information is available here: Political Consultations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of South Africa.

It should be recalled that the Republic of South Africa maintains a strict visa regime, under which Croatian citizens were previously required to apply for a visa, significantly complicating travel and business operations of Croatian enterprises in that country.

With this decision, our citizens and business community are now afforded easier access to a country of considerable influence on the African continent and globally, which this year holds the Presidency of the G20.
