Through many events throughout the country, on Wednesday, 5 May 2010, Croatia marked the Europe Week.

Deputy State Secretary of the Central Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU Funds Zvonimir Savić talked about the possibilities of local communities using EU pre–accession funds, as well as advantages of using structural funds and the Cohesion fund once Croatia becomes an EU member state. Experiences and recommendations of other countries were shared by the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia Paul Vandoren, Ambassador of the Italian Republic in Zagreb Alessandro Pignatti Morano di Custoza, and Advisor in the Ministry of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management Krešimir Ivančić.
Videoconference "Regional –EU cooperation in organising Master and Doctoral programmes" was held at Zadar University, with the participation of representatives from Austrian and Italian Universities and employees from public institutions. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration organised lectures "Get to know the European Union!" in primary schools in Novalja and Karlobag, as well as a lecture on Croatia’s path to EU membership in a high school in Samobor.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Open Door Days will be held today and tomorrow form 10 AM to 4 PM, along with lectures for organised student groups.
