The Republic of Croatia established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Iraq

The Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Iraq established diplomatic relations 4 January 2005 in New York. The Joint Statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed on behalf of the Croatian Government by the Croatian permanent representative to the UN in New York, ambassador Vladimir Drobnjak, and on behalf of the Iraqi Government by the Iraqi permanent representative to the UN, ambassador Samir Shakir Sumaidaie

The establishment of diplomatic relations is pursuant to the Croatian Government’s Conclusion, reached 30 September 2004, after diplomatic contacts and agreements in October, November and December 2004.
