State Secretary Željko Kuprešak led Croatian delegation at Third Ministerial Meeting of Danube Co-operation Process
State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Željko Kuprešak led on Wednesday, 10 April 2007 the delegation of the Republic of Croatia at the Third Ministerial Meeting of Danube Co-operation Process – DCP, which was held in Beograd, Republic of Serbia
Third Ministerial Meeting was focused on propositions for future co-operation within the Danube Co-operation Process, past and future projects in the fields of co-operation encompassed by the Process, and expected results in the next two years. Achieved results from the last Ministerial Conference in Bucharest in 2004 were also presented.
The Process has been established in 2002, as initiators or full members, by 13 Danube-region countries, chosen on the basis of the criteria of belonging to “the Danube hydrological basin“: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Montenegro and full members are also, as organizations, the European Commission and the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe (SP).
The Process is focused on economic development, navigation, environment protection, tourism, sub regional co-operation, and culture. The co-operation has a form of an ongoing process which is based on biannual conferences at the level of ministers of foreign affairs.
