State Secretary Zdravka Bušić 27 July 2019 received on inaugural visit the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, Xu Erwen.

The two officials underlined that the two countries’ relations were at a historic high, especially after Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s visit and the 17+1 summit in Croatia in April.

Bušić expressed satisfaction that the Croatia-China relations and cooperation are running on four parallel tracks: bilateral, EU, 17+1 and One Belt, One Road, underscoring their complementarity with the Three Seas Initiative, notably in regard to transport and infrastructural projects.

Supporting the activities of Chinese companies and investors on the Croatian market, Bušić and Xu highlighted the importance of a direct air route between the two countries and voiced support for the further strengthening of economic ties within the 17+1 format, notably in the area of tourism.
