State Secretary Pejčinović Burić received Laurids Hölscher, Deputy German Ambassador to Croatia

State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić received on 29 June 2007 Laurids Hölscher, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Croatia

The two talked about the results of the European Council from 21 and 22 June 2007, Germany’s EU presidency, and Croatia’s accession negotiations. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić congratulated Deputy Ambassador Hölscher on the achievements of Germany’s presidency, stating that as the EU chair led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, Germany deserves all praise for efficiently conducting the negotiations on the EU contractual reforms. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić also pointed out that the achieved agreement represents an encouragement for Croatia’s accession negotiations. She thanked the German side for its continual support for Croatia on its way towards full EU membership, as well as its efforts to join NATO.

Deputy Ambassador Hölscher expressed Germany’s support for Croatia’s process of entering the EU and NATO, stating his satisfaction with the realised priorities of Germany’s EU presidency, namely the defining of the new contractual basis for the EU, as well as the progress in the joint energy policy and climate protection.
