State Secretary Metelko Zgombić on scoping visit to Sarajevo over Croatia’s participation in NATO’s DCB

From May 20 to 22, a Croatian delegation paid a scoping visit to Sarajevo with the aim of initiating the implementation of one of the projects from NATO's Defence Capability Building (DCB) Package for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is financially supported by the Republic of Croatia.
 
In December last year, the Croatian Government paid half a million euros to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the DCB. On that occasion, the Secretary of State for Europe, Andreja Metelko Zgombić, visited Sarajevo and met with Deputy Foreign Minister Josip Brkić and Deputy Defence Minister Slaven Galić.
 
The Croatian delegation also includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, who will discuss with their hosts from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Ministry of Defence of the Armed Forces the possibilities of meeting the needs for modern non-lethal equipment, which will also have a high level of usability in civilian systems.
 
On this occasion, Metelko Zgombić emphasized that the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the main foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Croatia. In addition to continuously and strongly supporting BiH on its path to the European Union, where all forms of cooperation between the two countries are being strengthened, Croatia also demonstrates its commitment to political and security cooperation between the two countries through strengthening the capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina's military forces.
 
NATO's DCB Package for BiH is divided into several areas of security and defence. The initiative was established as a form of assistance at the meeting of NATO defence ministers in February 2023.
