State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić 24 January 2019 held bilateral talks with the Minister of State for EU Relations at the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Judit Varga.
The two officials discussed the current items on the General Affairs Council agenda, which will be the focus of the member countries’ debates during 2019, ahead of Croatia’s Council of the EU presidency in 2020. They also talked about the rule of law, as well as the legal, institutional and procedural aspects of the various initiatives on said topic. Metelko-Zgombić and Varga also exchanged views on the conclusion of the current EU institutional cycle and the upcoming European Parliament elections.
