State Secretary Metelko Zgombić attends 8th Congress of Croatian Culture

Organized by the Alliance of Croatian Associations in Slovenia and the Pomurje Lendava Croatian Cultural Association, the 8th Congress of Croatian Culture was held 21 September 2019 in Lendava, under the auspices of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović and Slovenian President Borut Pahor.
The central event saw folklore and vocal performances by nine Croatian associations. Keynote addressed were delivered by the MFEA State Secretary and envoy of the Croatian prime minister, Andreja Metelko Zgombić, and Croatian Ambassador to Slovenia and envoy of the Croatian president, Boris Grigić.
Metelko Zgombić underscored that Croatia monitored the status of Croats in Slovenia. She emphasized the two countries’ solid cross-border cooperation, which she has the opportunity to see in practice as the co-chair of the Standing Mixed Commission for the Implementation of the Cross-Border Traffic and Cooperation Agreement between Croatia and Slovenia.
Grigić also highlighted the very good cooperation between Croatia and Slovenia’s border regions entailing a number of projects, including Mursko Središće’s support for Lendava’s 2025 European Capital of Culture bid.
