State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić met with a delegation from the French Senate, led by European Affairs Committee Chairman Jean Bizet

State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić met with a delegation from the French Senate, led by European Affairs Committee Chairman Jean Bizet.

Metelko-Zgombić outlined the priorities of Croatia’s EU presidency, underscoring the importance of Zagreb Summit in May 2020. The collocutors agreed that the reforms in Southeast European countries were crucial for the development and stability of both the region and the EU, expressing willingness to continue cooperating on that matter.

The meeting discussed the EU’s technological sovereignty, security of European citizens, the Union’s global role, as well as the rule of law and protection of fundamental freedoms.
