State Secretary Marija Pejčinović Burić met with Secretary General of French Secretariat General of European Affairs, Pascale Andreani

State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić met on 4 June 2007 in Paris with the Secretary General of the French Republic’s Secretariat General of European Affairs, Pascale Andreani

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić informed Secretary General Andreani about the course of Croatia’s EU negotiations and Croatia’s expectations as regards the negotiations dynamic. She said that we expect most of the chapters to be opened during 2007 and closed in 2008, when the EU will be presided over by Slovenia and France. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić thanked the French side for their assistance in Croatia’s EU accession.

Secretary General Andreani familiarised State Secretary Pejčinović Burić with the current situation regarding the European Union’s new institutional treaty and presented France’s positions on the subject. She pointed out that the French Republic is still willing to offer Croatia the assistance is needs on its way to full EU membership.
