State Secretary Hido Biščević held a meeting at MFAEI with ambassadors of the EU members and the representative of the European Commission’s Delegation to Zagreb

State Secretary for Political Affairs Hido Biščević held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration with the ambassadors of the EU members and the representative of the European Commission’s Delegation to Zagreb to inform them about the Croatia’s position on the Slovenian Government’s decision to submit the bill on the declaration of the ecological zone and the continental shelf to the Parliament

State Secretary Biščević told the ambassadors that Croatia rejects that decision as legally unfounded and insignificant, describing as particularly harmful the setting of the shelf’s temporary southern border along the coordinates that are absolutely and undeniably within Croatia’s national territory. Commenting on Slovenia’s position that this is only a temporary solution, State Secretary Biščević pointed out that Croatia considers such negotiating standpoint as incorrect and unacceptable. State Secretary Biščević expressed the Croatian Government’s disappointment with the decision by the Slovenian Government, which clashes with the achieved dynamics of the bilateral relations development, and reiterated Croatia’s willingness to continue with the dialogue on the good neighbourly relations development between the two countries.
