Director General Parrado Marcos presented the structure of Casa Mediterraneo, whose goal is to attract the Mediterranean countries to present their cultural, economic and tourist potential to the Spanish public and strengthen the bilateral relations between Spain and the Union for the Mediterranean members by creating new ties on the Mediterranean basis. The Republic of Croatia is the first Adriatic country to be officially visited by Director General Parrado Marcos, which offers it the opportunity to position itself as one of Spain’s most important partners in the Mediterranean.

State Secretary Plenković emphasized the importance of the Union for the Mediterranean for Croatia, pointing out the cooperation priorities: the environment, energy, transport, science and high education, as well as small- and middle-sized entrepreneurship. He remarked that along with the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, the Union for the Mediterranean represents the backbone of Croatia’s activities in the Mediterranean and that, apart from the government sector, also interested in participating is the Croatian civil society, by cooperating in the activities of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the development of civil society.
