State Secretary Davor Božinović, received the Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Croatia, Beverly Mercer

State Secretary Božinović welcomed the arrival of the new Ambassador of Australia and expressed his conviction that the existing cooperation both at the bilateral level and within the framework of different international organisations will continue. They welcomed the participation of Croatia, as a partner country, at this year’s Royal Perth Show in September, which was assessed as an additional opportunity for the promotion of Croatian tourism and economy in general.

Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the progress of negotiations which lead to the conclusion of the Agreement on Health Insurance for which there is mutual interest, in particular among Croatian immigrants in Australia.

The Croatian side expressed satisfaction with the decision of the Australian court accepting the appeal of the Republic of Croatia on the basis of which Dragan Vasiljković can be extradited to the Republic of Croatia.

The Australian ambassador informed her collocutor that the Australian competent bodies have been undertaking all the necessary measures to locate the suspect in order to continue all the legal actions necessary for the completion of proceedings in this case.
