State Secretary Davor Božinović received Deputy Director General at Israeli MFA, Ambassador Pinhas Avivi

The meeting saw the exchange of opinions about the situation in the Near East, especially the recent conflict in the Gaza Strip, as well as about the future of the peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians

The meeting saw the exchange of opinions about the situation in the Near East, especially the recent conflict in the Gaza Strip, as well as about the future of the peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians.

The collocutors agreed that the long-term sustainable solution to the Near-East peace process is the one based on the existence of the Israeli and Palestinian state. They stressed the importance of the Annapolis process in regard to the necessity of reaching a wider consensus on the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Director General Avivi expressed great interest in the region of South Eastern Europe, as well as in Croatia’s position on the state of affairs in the region. He expressed full support for Croatia’s EU and NATO membership.

Director General Avivi was also interested in tourist cooperation, given that a large number of Israelis spend their vacation abroad.
