State Secretary Davor Božinović met with political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Vesko Garčević

During the meeting, State Secretary Božinović informed him about the Croatian experiences related to the drawing up of the Annual National Programme for NATO membership. He particularly underlined the importance of the Progress Report before Croatia’s accession to NATO, which served as a successful instrument for Croatia’s high-quality preparations for membership. They also exchanged opinions with regard to Montenegro’s participation in the Action Plan for NATO Membership.

In the follow-up to the talks, the Montenegrin delegation informed him about the preparations of Montenegro for membership of the European Union, expressing the hope that the Stabilisation and Association Agreement would be ratified by Belgium and Greece as soon as possible, and obtaining a positive avis as well as the status of the candidate country for EU membership.
