State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić participated in an informal ministerial meeting on the Horn of Africa titled “Joint Vision and the Strengthening of Cooperation in Support of Peace, Stability and Security in the Horn of Africa”.

The meeting was held via video link at the initiative of Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Apart from the 27 EU member states, participating in it were representatives of the African Union, UN, IGAD (Intergovernmental Authority on Development) and EU institutions. Addressing the conference, Bušić reflected on the Egypt-Ethiopia dispute on the GERD dam and underscored the importance of signing the peace deal in South Sudan as soon as possible. She also highlighted the joint initiative of the World Bank, African Development Bank and the EU as an important foundation for creating conditions that would lead to stability and prosperity in that part of the world.
