State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić 20 January 2017 held political consultations with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Deputy Foreign Minister Josip Brkić.

The two officials discussed the wide spectrum of bilateral relations. Bušić underlined that Croatia had special responsibility towards Bosnia and Herzegovina as its immediate EU neighbour, a party of the Dayton Agreement, and because of Bosnian Croats. Economic cooperation was described as a crucial segment of the two countries’ relations which should be further advanced and expanded. In that regard, they highlighted the importance of continuing with the infrastructural linking and cross-border cooperation, as well as further strengthening the cultural and scientific cooperation.

Bušić underscored Croatia’s strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European and Euro-Atlantic path, adding that it would continue to offer political, technical and expert assistance.

Both officials expressed willingness to continue the cooperation in seeking modalities and mechanisms for the resolution of outstanding issues.
