State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić 20 April 2018 held consultations with Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya on Croatia’s upcoming presidency of the Council of Europe’s Council of Ministers

State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić 20 April 2018 held consultations with Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya on Croatia’s upcoming presidency of the Council of Europe’s Council of Ministers and the prospects of cooperating within this pan-European organization.

The two officials exchanged views on the topical CoE issues. Croatia and Ukraine agree on the need to preserve this fundamental European institution in the area of promoting human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

Bušić presented the priorities and main emphases of Croatia’s presidency. She underlined that Croatia would try to contribute to facilitating dialogue and reconciliation of different interests. The Ukrainian side expressed support for Croatia’s priorities, underscoring its readiness to cooperate and participate in the activities during Croatia’s presidency.

For the first time since becoming a full-fledged member country of the Council of Europe, Croatia is to chair the Committee of Ministers 18 May-21 November 2018.
