State Secretary Biščević held lecture to SEE-accredited Swedish ambassadors
State Secretary for Political Affairs Hido Biščević held a lecture on 27 September 2007 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to Swedish ambassadors accredited to the countries of South Eastern Europe
State Secretary Biščević informed the ambassadors about Croatia’s foreign-policy priorities, namely the EU and NATO accession, as well as the regional co-operation within SEECP and CEFTA, pointing out the positive effects of Croatia’s implementation of its foreign-policy goals on the region as a whole.
The lecture also focused on the state of affairs and perspectives in South Eastern Europe in light of the current debate on the status of Kosovo and other issues affecting the permanent security and stability of this part of Europe. State Secretary Biščević stressed the need for finding solutions that will ensure a lasting peace, co-operation and the strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic potentials, as well as satisfy the interests of all nations involved. Considering the importance of a permanent SEE stabilisation for wide-scale European relations, State Secretary Biščević pointed out the importance of strengthening the EU unity in conducting the common foreign and security policy.
