State Secretary Bakota on working visit to the U. S.

State Secretary at the MFAEI Gordan Bakota, who is on a working meeting to the U. S., held 19 and 20 April 2005 a series of working meetings with high officials at the National Security Council and State Department

State Secretary Bakota talked with the Director for South Eastern Europe Bertram Braun at the U. S. National Security Council on bilateral relations between the U. S. and Croatia and the current political situation in Croatia, and they exchanged opinions on the current situation in the region.

At the State Department, Bakota met with Deputy Assistant State Secretary for Europe and Eurasia Kathleen Stephens and Assistant State Secretary for Consular Affairs Maura Harty. They discussed the extending of the co-operation in consular affairs between the Republic of Croatia and the U. S. and their co-operation on several projects, especially in preventing human trafficking.

State Secretary Bakota visited the Holocaust Museum, where he met with its director Arthur S. Berger.
