State Secretary at the MFAEI Marija Pejčinović Burić met with the delegation of the Finnish Parliament’s Grand Committee, led by its Head Jari Vilén

State Secretary for European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Marija Pejčinović Burić, met today, 19 September 2005, with the delegation of the Finnish Parliament’s Grand Committee, led by its Head Jari Vilén

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić informed the Finnish delegation about the Euro-Atlantic process in Croatia, its preparations for the start of the EU negotiations, and the use of the Union’s pre-accession funds.

Head of the Grand Committee Jari Vilén expressed his full support to the opening of the negotiations between Croatia and the EU, pointing out that Finland is advocating further enlargement of the EU, and offered Finland’s technical assistance and experience in conducting the negotiations.

Pejčinović Burić thanked Vilén for the support, stressing that Finland’s experience in acceding to the EU is valuable to Croatia.
