Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić held talks in Madrid 9 October 2012 with her Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo y Marfil. She thanked him for the news that Spain would start the process of ratification of Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty in its lower house of parliament on Thursday, as well as for Spain’s continuous support to Croatia.
Apart from the bilateral relations and the EU's financial future, the two ministers also discussed the situation in the Southern Mediterranean and the Southeast Europe.
