Second session of Interdepartmental Commission for Monitoring Exports to U.S.: survey on list of products potentially subject to tariffs

  • Slika
The second session of the Interdepartmental Commission for Monitoring Exports to the United States was held at the Ministry of Economy, focusing on providing updated information regarding the European Commission's activities in the context of trade relations with the U.S., with special emphasis on tariff issues.

The Commission informed members that on May 8, 2025, the European Commission launched a survey on a list of U.S.-origin products that may be subject to EU counter-tariffs should the negotiations on tariffs fail to yield a positive outcome.

The list under consultation pertains to imports from the U.S. valued at €95 billion and includes industrial and agri-food products.

In addition to potential tariff countermeasures, the Commission is also considering possible restrictions on the export of certain steel waste and chemical products from the EU to the U.S., valued at €4.4 billion.

The survey is open until June 10 and represents a key opportunity for all EU Member States to actively participate and submit their feedback to ensure that the proposed countermeasures do not harm national economies—particularly sectors dependent on trade with the U.S.

We invite all interested economic operators, exporters, and other stakeholders to participate in the survey and share their opinions and suggestions.
