Regarding Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel’s statement that Croatia falsely reported that the International Court of Justice at The Hague is to solve border issues with Slovenia, we would like to state the following
Croatia’s position for the 4th Meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council that the Slovenian side is referring to pointed out the 2007 Bled Meeting, at which it was agreed that the border issues will be solved by a competent international legal body, with an agreement in principle for it to be the ICJ at The Hague.
Therefore, it cannot be said that Croatia falsely informed the EU-Croatia Stabilisation and Association Council.
Minister Jandroković informed the Council that the final agreement on the choice of the international legal body is in the hands of the mixed Slovenian-Croatian commission for the drawing up of a framework for submitting the dispute before an international legal body.
It is worth mentioning that the International Court of Justice at The Hague is the highest judicial body of the UN, with judges of esteemed expertise and with a vast experience in solving border disputes by implementing the international law.
