Pusić outlined the crucial moments of Croatia’s accession process and the course of the ratification of the Accession Treaty. She stressed the important role played by the EU member countries’ parliaments.

Croatia is ready to take on the stability of the region, Pusić said, reiterating the willingness to cooperate with Bosnia and Herzegovina in all common issues within the Euro-Atlantic partnership. The development of cross-border and infrastructure projects is in both countries’ interest, as is continued cooperation in resolving the outstanding issues, such as special border crossings and agreement on the new economic cooperation regime, so that the achieved level of trade could be protected once Croatia leaves CEFTA.

Pusić also highlighted Croatia’s strong support for the reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, saying that the accession experience could also be an experience in state building. She informed the delegation about the planned activities of the Transition Council, which should act as a centre of excellence for the transfer of experience and knowledge gained during Croatia’s NATO and EU accession.

Representatives of the “Parliament for Europe” project thanked for Croatia’s willingness to share its experience with Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing a wish to take part in projects of cross-border and infrastructural cooperation.
