Pusić meets foreign ministers of Chile and Kuwait

“The Croats have done so much for Chile and are such a positive and strong community that we feel closeness with Croatia, despite the geographical distance,” said Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno Charme, adding that Chile was willing to cooperate with Croatia in all areas and act as a gateway for Croatian products to the market of the Pacific Alliance. Pusić informed him about Croatia’s negotiations and what that process had meant for the maturing of our society, and about the current state of the accession treaty ratification. The two ministers agreed that Croatia and Chile could form strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest, such as energy, tourism or higher education. Chile is to host the EU-Latin America summit in January next year.

The same day Pusić met Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affair, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The two ministers pointed out the possibilities of cooperation in energy, tourism and transport, which opens up the possibility of establishing residential embassies in both countries.

On the margins of the UN General Assembly, Pusić also held talks with Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State Philip Reeker, discussing the state of affairs in the region. Both officials agreed that the European prospect of all the Southeast European countries of was crucial for its stability.
