Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić attended 27 February 2012 a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.

The meeting, chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, saw the discussion on the outcome of Serbia-Kosovo dialogue in light of granting Serbia EU candidate status and deciding on a feasibility study for Kosovo. Pusić pointed out Croatia’s valuable experience, as well as its willingness to assist and form partnerships in reforming the countries in the region.

Pusić also took part in the discussion on Syria, stressing that sanctions against Syria had concrete consequences for Croatia, but that Croatia was prepared to take the position of defending human rights. She underlined that it was exceptionally important for the EU to establish cooperation with all opposition representatives in Syria.

On the fringes of the meeting, Pusić met with her Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec.
